from noborders notts, 5 April 2008: Around 6.30 this morning 'riot' police were at Harmondsworth removal centre close to Heathrow airport, and detainees were taken away from the centre in vans. Around 30 detainees have been taken to unknown destinations, according to the news received by No Borders activists. more

from imc-uk, 18 March 2008: On the evening of Saturday 12 April 2008, there will be a demonstration and street party in Manchester for the FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT FOR ALL and to DEFEND AUTONOMOUS SPACES. This forms part of the international days of action in defence of autonomous spaces that have been called for this weekend ( http://april2008.squat.net/). The gathering was called by Manchester No Borders, and groups from Brighton, Bristol, Newcastle, Oxford, Liverpool, London, Cardiff, Birmingham and many more came for a weekend of discussions, planning and hanging out with other No Borders activists. more

Workers’ struggles to improve conditions traditionally voice demands for visibility, rights and citizenship. But when visibility brings with it the risk of detention and deportation other strategies may be necessary. Equally, when rights are dependent on the whims of employers, how desirable are they? more

11 November 2007: At the end of a bi-national march from the site of the No Borders Camp and rally at the Mexicali / Calexico port of entry, around 100 Border Patrol officers attacked a group of about 30 demonstrators on the u.s. side and with pepper gas pellets, tazers, and batons.  more

Offering something of a break in tradition, the noborders / rampART benefit party after the anarchist book fair is an alternative to hanging out in the pub.

Open from 6pm it's a chance to hang out with friends while supporting grassroots campaigns and a rare opportunity to listen to conscious hip-hop and rap with acts from the USA, Greece, Scarborough, Manchester, Bristol and London.
