Smash ICE: Property destruction turns up the heat

from EF! Journal, 30 October 2008: Earth First! has finally come to a loose consensus on capitalism as the root cause of our ecological crisis. As opposed to the mainstream’s reactionary embracement of green lifestyles, the focus on ending capitalism’s grasp on the world gives cohesion to the radical environmental bloc. The first serious campaign created directly toward this strategy has been Root Force, which calls for targeting capitalism’s vulnerable infrastructure at key industrial projects. However, other tactics are also being launched against capitalism that expose additional points of vulnerability. more

Danish police arrest 43 over asylum protest

from email, 29 October 2008: Danish police arrested at least 43 people and used tear gas in clashes with hundreds of protesters outside a compound for asylum-seekers Saturday. Activists said the aim of Saturday's demonstration was to protest against a restrictive Danish asylum system and try to close the Sandholm refugee centre. more

Tacoma: Wells Fargo attacked in solidarity with detainees

from various sources, 29 October 2009: During the morning of October the Twenty Fifth, a group of people smashed out five of the six windows of a Wells Fargo Home Mortgage office in Tacoma, Washington. The office was located in Old Town Tacoma, one of the city's wealthiest areas. This act was done in solidarity with the 13 people recently detained by Immigrations and Customs Enforcement in Shelton, WA and the people recently detained in San Francisco, CA. more

Why we should all be in Vichy (France) on 3rd November 2008

from email, 28 October 2008: On the 3rd and 4th of November, The french presidency of the European Union sets up a summit of all 27 european ministers of Justice and Interior to discuss... There, they will solemnly discuss about the “integration” of migrant workers and the application of the famous "directive retour". A mere after-lunch demo on the Sunday would not be an answer up to the provocation. What is needed is to physically disrupt the summit, to reclaim the city on the 3rd of November, to block its access, to interrupt the “normal life” of Vichy until the occupants go away.  more

The extracts are taken from an email correspondence between Nigel and a member of the public, who on reading about Babi’s deportation decided to contact Nigel to inform him of the negative impact that BMI’s role in deporting people could have on the company. Not surprisingly Nigel didn’t see anything wrong in BMI carrying out deportations. more

International call for an anti-racist action in Denmark: Shut down Sandholm

Open meeting on migration during ESF

Day without deportations at the ESF

Call for No Border camp in Patras, Greece: 29-31 August 2008

The importance of such a No Border has a double meaning, since the city of Patras faces both internal and external borders. Internal borders in the forbidden zone of the port, which in the name of security excludes the city from its access to the life-giving factor of the sea; internal borders that have enclosed the refugees inside the settlement. On the other hand we face the national borders, which forbid refugees form entering the port or traveling to another european country. more
