Shock For Edinburgh Metro Readers

REPOSTED FROM SCOTLAND IMC: Passengers reading the Metro on Edinburgh's buses this week got a real shock - the paper contained something worth reading. A leaflet entitled "The Carnival is not over" mysteriously appeared in over a thousand copies of the Metro "newspaper" which is distributed free on Lothian Region buses. more

Info for defendants on trial dates

The legal support group has been contacted by some defendants whose trials were due to begin to say that they were not informed of the change and had already paid in advance for transport. This will obviously be particularly important if you were planning to attend a trial and are coming from outside the UK. more

G8 medics acquitted

Legal Support Group Statement on the Policing of the Protests against the G8

During the protests against the G8 over 700 people were detained or arrested by the police, often overnight, and around 366 people have been arrested and charged. The courts have imposed draconian bail conditions, which not only prevented those arrested from continuing their protests against the G8 summit, but forced those not resident in Scotland to leave at an impossible speed, making the conditions impossible to comply with. more
