Squat illegally evicted in Switzerland, more evictions to come
from imc-uk, 12.07.2007: On July 10th, "La Tour" was illegaly evicted in Geneva, Switzerland. The police invaded "LA TOUR" under the pretext of carrying out an identity control! This, so called, identity verification was followed by the arrival of a bailif who preceeded to proclaim that the house was abandoned (the inhabitants being held at the police station)... more
Helmet cameras approved for use by UK plod
Two similar articles which popped up in the media today, though when you read a bit more carefully you will realise that its not as bad as it looks. The articles are based on reports on trials conducted by Plymouth plods.
Primarily, the use of head-mounted cameras could be 'problematic' for our sort of people in a public order situation, whether it is an unseemly scuffle with the cops outside the London Anarchist Bookfair, or a larger, more full-on unseemly scuffle with the cops on May Day. more

Netcu Watch: SOCPA Raid Charges Dropped
via Netcu Watch, 11.07.2007: On the 20th February 2007 dawn raids were executed at four addresses in Yorkshire involving over a hundred police officers from Humberside and West Yorkshire Police. The aim being to arrest four people for what the media and police agencies dubbed animal rights extremism. Four and a half months later, the charges were dropped and the accused are now pursuing legal action against Humberside Police. more
