31st January 2004 - No Borders report
Posted 15:00 02 February 2004: Actions against borders and detention centres took place in 49 cities around Europe on Saturday January 31st 2004.
In the UK there was a picket of Daily Mail offices on Friday 30th, and on Saturday 31st 10 actions took place around the country.
At Lindholme Detention Centre, near Doncaster, there was a noise demo of about 100 people, and at Campsfield there was a small protest.
In London, there was a No Borders Protest at Waterloo Station where people from Wombles, Barbed Wire Britain and Rhythmns of Resistance leafletted, hung a huge banner on the Eurostar departure board which read: "all borders are prisons", played loud music, and finally got kicked out of the station.
In the evening there was a post demo party at Kentish Town Occupied Social Center.
