After what can only be described as a gathering of the Darby and Joan club, the assembled geriatrics met at the Salmon and Ball pub on the corner of Bethnal green road. This it turns out was just the re-direction point as it soon became clear that the grey haired security team we're shepherding the old folk a mere one hundred meters away to a church hall opposite! from email, 9 October 2008: State police summarily executed three peasants in front of a child - The Fray Bartolome de las Casas Human Rights Center (Frayba) issued a press release on denouncing the October 4 2008 police operation in Chincultik that left six peasants dead, 17 wounded, and 36 detained. Of the wounded, ten were beaten and six were shot. Three men were gravely injured: one was transfered to a hospital in Mexico City, and the other to a hospital in the Chiapas capital of Tuxtla Gutierrez. more

Greater Vancouver's homeless crisis continues to grow at a "stunning" and "shocking" rate, with a 373-per-cent increase in street homelessness since 2002. more

State and federal police forces want full-frontal images of vehicles, including the driver and front passenger, that are clear enough for identification purposes and usable as evidence in court. more

Anti arms trade campaigners are planning a mass demonstration against the arms trade on Wednesday October 15th from Falmer Station. Recently Sussex Police hand delivered letters to known campaigners calling for 'organisers' to meet with the police to 'discuss their intentions'.
This letter was delivered by evidence gathering officers who filmed the police's attempts to 'serve' the letter on campaigners. more

Nearly a century may have passed but the emotions caused by the Siege of Sidney Street have risen again over two commemorative plaques erected for Piaktow. more

Now they've announced that they've called it off! And they called it off because of fears of protests from `feral anarchists', including `the ultra-militant protest group Mutiny.' It's obvious that this victory really had very little to do with us. more
