from email, 15 April 2009:
Rozbrat Collective needs support from any groups, movements and people who feel Rozbrat Squat is close to them. We already announce that on the day of the auction there will be a demonstration and we invite you all to come. On our website www.rozbrat.org you can check latest news on the legal situation of Rozbrat and on the initiatives connected with "Rozbrat stays!" action. We count on your support and help.

ROZBRAT STAYS - LET'S RECLAIM THE CITY", on 9 May 2009 there will be a demonstration in defence of Rozbrat taking place. We invite all of you to take part in it. We start at 3 p.m. In front of the Opera house, Fredry Street. In the evening there will be a party at Rozbrat. We will try to provide a sleeping place for everyone, you can also take tents with you.
When the dark clouds over Rozbrat squat have become a real threat we decided to organize a first (but probably not the last) demonstration in defence of our space. As some of you may already know, things around Rozbrat's future started happening - the bank, the court, the auction. We will not wait passively, it's high time to show our presence in the city, in its streets.
The city authorities, against their own declarations, don't want to let Rozbrat stay, they don't support the place nor the cause. The words said by the vice president of Poznan when he met with us don't allow us to think in an optimistic way: there's no space for us where we are now, there's no space for us in the city centre, maybe there would be something in the outskirts, but this comes with no concrete proposal... so basically it comes with nothing.
The city politics are clear - throw out everything what is different, unprofitable, what is not fitting in the commercial image of Poznan, they want to clear the centre so that it becomes an unlimited shopping mall.
To protest against treating the city as a shopping mall, against conforming everything to the big business, against destroying the social bonds and in defence of places such as Rozbrat - where social, cultural and political functions work together - on 9 May at 3 p.m. in front of the Opera house there will be a demonstration under the slogan
"ROZBRAT STAYS - LET'S RECLAIM THE CITY".

Police Review: magazine cartoon - "In staggeringly poor taste"
from J4J campaign, 18 November 2008: We would imagine that, in the midst of the inquest into the death of Jean Charles de Menezes, publications aimed at and widely read by serving police officers would show greater sensitivity in the way they talk about fatal shootings by the police. But evidently not. The magazine "Police Review", in its 14 November edition, decided that the introduction of new rules preventing firearms officers from conferring after a shooting was best illustrated by this appalling cartoon. more
