1) A Message From PGA Bloc Ottawa

PGA Bloc Ottawa has been meeting since the early fall to begin organizing around 2010. In solidarity with the original No 2010 call-out and demands from Coast Salish Territory, PGA Ottawa is in the process of working on a campaign entitled “Capital Punishment 2010? (punishing capitalism and the City of Ottawa where we are based).

We are currently gathering research and information to post online with our analysis/communiqué by the end of this year. Capital Punishment 2010 will be launched in February 2008 in Ottawa (2 yrs to the Olympics) with a loud and festive demonstration/snake march that will include a militant communiqué of our campaign. PGA Ottawa is calling for continuous economic and political disruption in the lead-up to and including the year 2010.

PGA Bloc Ottawa’s Capital Punishment campaign is firmly based on anti-colonialism, anti-capitalism and anti-authoritarianism. We are resisting the Olympics, the SPP, and the G8 from an analysis that sees these processes and what they create as all part of the same system of oppression. We are also resisting these events from the perspectives consistent with PGA Hallmarks.

We invite all groups committed to the PGA Hallmarks to a Regional Strategy Meeting on January 19th - 20th in Ottawa to begin building a campaign to confront and disrupt the Vancouver Winter Olympics, the G8 Summit, and SPP Meetings, all of which take place in 2010.

2) Schedule and Agenda

The specifics of the agenda are still being worked out, and a draft will be circulated for input in the next few days. What is currently planned is for the meetings to run from about 10:00am-5:00pm on Saturday, January 19th and from 10:00am-2:00pm on Sunday, January 20th. PGA Bloc Ottawa will also be hosting Dance Party 2010 Vol. 1 on the evening of Saturday, January 19th.

The aim with this timeline was to encourage out of town attendees to arrive in Ottawa on the evening of Friday, January 18th if possible, to allow for a full day of discussion on the Saturday. The agenda for the Sunday discussion will end in the early afternoon so delegates can make it back to their respective cities in the early evening.

3) Billeting

Billeting will be arranged by PGA Bloc Ottawa for the evenings of Friday, January 18th and Saturday, January 29th. If you or your group requires billeting, send an email to pgabloc@gmail.com. Please indicate how many spaces you need and if you have any specific requirements (ie. you simply adore cats, but they give you hives or you can’t stand smokers but go through 2 packs a day).

4) Food

PGA Bloc Ottawa is organizing to provide food during the Regional Meeting. Details are still being confirmed, but we’ll do our best to have at least a hearty lunch on both the Saturday and Sunday, plus lots of coffee and, umm, whatever stuff non-coffee drinkers like.

5) Dance Party 2010 Vol. 1

Come rock the dancefloor with PGA Ottawa and our friends from Toronto and Montreal! Help us show Sumi, Quatchi and Miga that they better watch out, our dance moves aint nothin to fuck with.

This danceparty is a fundraiser for PGAs Capital Punishment 2010 campaign. There will be an Auction going on during the party. This is the place to buy PGAs used crap and 7mins in heaven with your favorite riotstars!!

1) Un Message De PGA Bloc Ottawa

L’AMP/PGA Ottawa se rencontre depuis le début de l’automne afin de débuter notre organisation en guise de résistance autour de 2010. En solidarité avec l’appel à l’action du réseau no2010 AMP/PGA Ottawa est présentement dans le procès de monter notre campagne CAPITAL PUNISHMENT 2010.

Présentement nous sommes occupés à compiler de l’info au sujet de 2010, qui serra affiché sur notre site web. CAPITAL PUNISHMENT débutera officiellement en Février 2010, à deux and du début des jeux olympiques, avec une manifestation festive et bruyante à Ottawa. Nous annoncerons aussi à ce moment notre campagne prévue de deux années de perturbations économiques aboutissant aux actions de 2010.

La campagne CAPITAL PUNISHMENT est basée fermement sur une analyse anti coloniale, anti capitaliste et anti autoritaire. Nous résistons les Olympiques le PSP et le G8 car nous croyons que ce sont tous des manifestations du même système d’oppression. Nous résistons aussi ces institutions du point de vue de la base d’unité de l’AMP

Nous invitons tous les groupes de l’AMP et alliés à une rencontre pour bâtir notre stratégie, afin de confronter et perturber le G8, le PSP et les Olympiques.

2) Horaire Et Agenda

Les détails spécifiques de l’agenda sont encore dans les travaux, et une copie en serra distribuer dès que possible. Ce que nous avons de confirmé jusqu’à date est ceci: la rencontre du samedi prendra lieux de 10h00 am à 17h00 et celle du dimanche de 10h00 à 14h00. L’AMP organise aussi un party/danse le samedi soir.

Nous encourageons les gens de l’extérieure de la ville à arriver le vendredi soir si possible afin de débuter la rencontre à l’heure. La rencontre se termine tôt dimanche soir afin de permettre à ceux de l’extérieure de pouvoir retourner chez eux le soir même.

3) Accomodements

L’AMP se charge de trouver des accommodements pour ceux qui en désir le vendredi et samedi. Si vous ou votre groupe désir des accommodements contactez nous au pgabloc@gmail.com. SVP indiquez combiens vous êtes et si vous avez des besoins spécifiques (ie : allergie aux chats, allergie aux activistes, fumez trois paquets par jour…)

4) Bouffe

Les détails sont à confirmer mais l’AMP essayera de nourrir les gens durant la rencontre, et de s’assurer que le café et l’absinthe coule.

5) Dance Party 2010 Vol. 1

Le samedi soir venez danser avec nous pour oublier la longue journée de discussions compliquées!

Le party serra un party bénéfice pour la campagne, ainsi que pour tenter de repayer le cout du gaz de ceux de l’extérieur. Il y aura un encan durant le party afin de faire du gros cash. Venez acheter notre vieille Junk!
