Queen Mary & Westfield College
Mile End Road, London E1

Books, speakers, meetings, workshops, films, exhibitions, food, creche and much more.

We've moved again. We needed a bigger venue again and more outside space and we needed to get away from boring boring Arsenal.

This year we are at Queen Mary University on Mile End Road, close to Mile End and Stepney Green Tubes. We've got space for stalls, meetings, film and cabaret.

As well as the creche there will be a space for older kids. Get in touch if you want a stall or to run a meeting - or just turn up on the day with thousands of others.

The original and still the best!

The very first Anarchist Bookfair was in 1983. It's happened every year since, getting bigger and better each time. This coming one is our 27th Anarchist Bookfair and it is the largest and most important regular gathering of Anarchists in the world.

It reflects the full range of Anarchist groups, publishers and activity. Alongside the day length Bookfair, where you can get the latest books, pamphlets, magazines and all the other stuff, there are continual meetings and discussions on all aspects of anarchist activity. These are open to all.

Through the day there is a professionally run creche and hot food. As has happened in previous years there will be anarchist caberet throughout the day and a full programme of videos/DVD's for people to watch.

If you are in London you can get posters and leaflets from either Freedom Bookshop, 84B Whitechapel High Street , London , E1 or Housmans Bookshop, 5 Caledonian Road , London , N1.

If you want posters - from 1 to 100 - email us and we will get them to you.

Crash space for the bookfair

Those coming from out of town for the anarchist bookfair are invited to crash at the rampART social centre from Friday evening till Sunday (or longer by prior arrangement). Bring a warm sleeping bag as it's got pretty drafty recently.

Be aware that you won't get an early night Saturday due to the noborders/rampart benefit after the bookfair (details below). Rampart is a short bus ride or tube journey to the new bookfair venue. It takes about 10/15 minutes by bus, train or bike, 25 minutes to walk.
- rampART, 15 Rampart Street, London E1 2LA (near Whitechapel, off Commercial Rd)

{ The "Annual unseemly scuffle with the police" outside the bookfair has yet to fully (dis)organised. But watch this space! See http://www.schnews.org.uk/archive/news518.htm#12 )
