Star March Judgement: Defeat for the Police and Constitutional Court
The German federal constitutional court has banned tomorrow's [7 June] star march, including the three substitute events outside both banned areas. The reason for the current ban are the events since the demonstration on June 2nd and the defamatory depiction of the police.

An Open Letter to the Press, Rostock, G8 2007: There is Something Terribly Wrong Here
It is easy to condemn those who throw a rock or burn a car, but most of what we are seeing in Rostock is police blatantly provoking violence, using that same violence to justify ever more heavy-handed repression. Morning Critical Mass A Success! - Bristol G8 Solidarity 8 June
This morning saw a good natured and fun critical mass reclaim the streets of Bristol from car-culture! A good crowd of 40 to 50 riders gathered in the centre ready to move off in a carnival of cycling in solidarity with protests against the G8 and to draw attention to the chaos of climate change.
It was interesting to note there was lots of media here this time – normally at a critical mass these is no media, but (being cynical) I wonder if the media arrived this time because there was a little agro at the last one? Shame that the media go for sensationalist news and not real news! more

Star March banned again
The Star March coalition registered so-called 'substitute-events' on sunday. This was to safeguard the right to demonstrate should a complete ban be confirmed by the federal constitutional court.
Yet just a half day later the special police department 'Kavala' also banned these events despite the fact that they were mainly outside the banned zones I&II. A demonstration in Kuehlingsborn is affected by this, as is a rally in Boergerende and a march from Bad Doberan through Steffenshagen to the National Motorway 'B 105'. more
